=> Our Guide will Retrace the Tet Offensive Sites with you to study of the 1968 Tet Offensive battles for Hue. The Battle of Hue was one of the longest and bloodiest battles of the war, and we spend our day visiting strategic sites in the fighting.
=> We start in the southern city. We follow the actions of Alpha 1/1 and Golf 2/5, then Fox & Hotel 2/5 covering, among others, the Shell Gas Station, Football Stadium, the former MACV Compound, Tran Cao Van Street, Joan of Arc Girl’s High School, Hue University, Treasury, Public Health Building, Provincial Capital Building area, and the Church of the Redemptress. Famous for its university, this town, known for open and radical thinking, is also home to Quoc Hoc High School that graduated Ho Chi Minh, General Giap, and President Diem.
=> We will take a rest for local authentic lunch and coffee.
=> In The afternoon: We will learn more the battle in the Citadel – enter the Citadel with its ramparts and towers, and visit sites specific to the northern battle: We will follow the Action of USMC 1/1 – Reinforcing the Citadel : Feb 10-12 and Fighting of Marines in Citadel from 13-20 February – Start from Phase line green -> Revisit Dong Ba tower -> following others Lines. to the south gate.
=> Finally, We visit the Imperial City, home to the ancient emperors under Nguyen Dynasty: Learn more about history of Vietname since 16 century – 1945 and life of king and his family….
